Chris has spent his life on the water around Key West and runs trips for everyone from first-time anglers to serious offshore crews. He is happiest when the bite turns on and the whole boat is hooked up at once.

Hans is a student of the ocean who reads weather, current and bait like a map. Guests appreciate how much he explains along the way, from rigging to why a certain spot fishes best on a certain tide.

Sam runs a calm, well-organized deck and loves putting families on fish they will talk about all year. Off the boat, he is usually still on the water somewhere in the Lower Keys.

Erik brings big energy to every charter and thrives on the hunt, whether that means chasing offshore pelagics or working a shark bait in close. He is a strong teacher for anglers stepping up to heavier tackle.

Caleb keeps the deck clean, the baits fresh and the rods ready before you even ask. He is quick with a hand on the rail and great at coaching guests through a long fight.

DJ is a natural on deck and loves the moment a spread comes alive. He works hard to make sure everyone on board gets their turn on the rod.

For over six decades, Cowboy Cowgirl SportFishing Charters has been an integral part of the Key West fishing community. Founded in 1965 by Hans Baumgarten, our charter service has grown into a three-generation family business built on passion, expertise, and a love for the ocean.
Today, Hans' son Mark Baumgarten, and his wife Michelle, continue the family legacy alongside their children, Chris and Kristin. Mark's brother, Michael Baumgarten, a renowned Conch filmmaker, also carries on the family's Key West roots. With saltwater in our veins and a legacy built on the docks of Key West, we're more than just charter operators—we're the soul behind every unforgettable fishing experience.
